Current Term: 2010 to 2012
I have been a member of the Pomona Police Officers’ Association since January 1987. I had the privilege of serving as PPOA Secretary from 1991 to 1992 under the tutelage of then President Tom Andrew (retired). I took an eighteen-year hiatus to raise my children and decided it was once again time to make a difference I ran for President and had the fortune of being elected in January 2009 to fill the second half of a two-year term to replace retired Pomona Police Officer Phil Bozoich (RIP). Upon conclusion of the term, I was re-elected for another two years.
In addition to my regular duties, I serve on the Negotiation Committee, Policy Review Committee, and Political Action Committee. I am also active in the Peace Officers Research Association of California (PORAC) and regularly attend LA North Chapter meetings. My two primary goals for the remainder of my tenure are to increase PPOA involvement in community affairs and to improve relations with elected officials.
It is my honor to serve the men and women of the Pomona Police Officers’ Association as well as the community at large.
Sincerely,
Rob Baker
