  • Pomona POA standing strong and united against Council Member Carrizosa:

Carrizosa along with residents have said the checkpoint was heavy-handed and impacted the poor and those without driver's licenses.

On August 15th, an unlicensed driver struck and killed a 19 year old woman crossing a Pomona street - Just one of several incidents involving unlicensed drivers detailed in this press release.

Carrizosa said Wednesday something positive has already resulted with Police Chief Joe Romero's announcement that four-point checkpoints will not be repeated. "He's willing to find a middle ground," Carrizosa said.

Carrizosa has successfully derailed the Pomona Police Department's efforts to protect the citizens of Pomona and other communities as they pass through our city. However, the Pomona Police will diligently continue to pursue the right to use legal means to remove unlicensed and intoxicated drivers from our streets.
