Today I attended the "Meet and Greet" at the Children's Advocacy Center . This is a yearly event that takes place to thank and meet the local agencies, the community and any entity involved in the Children's Advocacy Center . The CAC facilitates and conducts child interviews on children who have been sexually or physically abused. It is a great resource especially to the Sex Crimes unit and Family Crimes unit. I have even utilized them on two occasions in my current assignment. Detective Pomroy is on the Board of Director's and can provide more in depth information on them if needed.

The 2008 PPOA Golf Tournament was a success and proceeds were donated to the CAC and to Project Sister. Project Sister is another great asset to the community and a great police resource. Project Sister Advocate's assist first responding officer's on rape cases and also in the court process. These volunteers if guided properly can be a great help in your investigation.

I presented checks to both the CAC and to Project Sister on behalf of the Pomona Police Officer's Association. Both non-profit agencies were very appreciative and wanted me to thank our members and contributor's to the tournament. This donation means a lot to both organizations. It is another fine example of how the PPOA board, our members and every entity of this Department came together and assisted in providing the means to make this donation.

Thank you on behalf of the Children's Advocacy Center and Project Sister.

    Respectfully,
    Detective Jen Turpin
